Practical Khakis

My grandfather is the most practical person I have ever known. He doesn't do bells and whistles. He has eaten the same rotation of three meals for lunch for as long as I can remember. His boots and his watch are both older that I am. He loves routine and he loves quality. Not long ago, I stopped by while I was home visiting and our conversation landed on the subject of "the good ole days". Looking at my jeans with the slightly frayed hem, he said, "They just don't make things like they used to, do they?" And he's right. Most products are not made to the quality that the were 25 or 50 years ago.

But most products are not the Patagonia Shop Pant. If you want a khaki pant that will last, try these on for size. They come in two shades of khaki ("mushroom brown" and "teakwood") and are made in styles for men and women. Created from organic-cotton canvas, these pants might just be the next wave in high quality preppy attire. Granddad would be proud.

Your granddad has it figured out. I am the same way... I buy for L-O-N-G term wear. I may spend a lot, but this philosophy has never failed me.
